A gentle, non-invasive technique that stimulates the lymphatic system to reduce fluid retention, support immunity, and promote deep healing from within.
The Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system is the body's first line of defence against disease and infection. It forms a major part of the immune system by collecting viruses, bacteria, damaged cells and waste products for excretion from the body.
Lymphatic drainage works by keeping the environment around the cells healthy, and by stimulating immune system function. It is a specific technique that involves stretching and torquing the skin and applying gentle pressure to promote the flow of lymph — it is not a massage, as there is no oil or penetration into any muscles.
Benefits
Signs of Congestion
Lymph issues can be an underlying contributing factor to many disease states, manifesting in a wide array of symptoms. Signs that your lymphatic system may be congested include:
Water Retention
Oedema, bloating, puffiness of the face and neck, swelling of the extremities on aeroplanes, lymphoedema.
Poor Immunity
Frequent colds, flus and other infections, sinus congestion, allergies, excess mucus, chronic earaches and tonsillitis, enlarged lymph nodes, swollen glands.
Slow Metabolism
Poor wound healing, constipation, skin conditions, obesity and difficulty losing weight.
The Science
Lymphatic Drainage is a non-invasive and relaxing process that can facilitate drainage, greatly enhance recovery and healing, and have profound effects on the body if performed correctly. According to research conducted by Bruno Chikly, the body will produce 30% more immune cells following applications. It is beneficial pre and post-surgery as it also improves the immune system.
